Chemcut Announces Successful Delivery and Installation of its XLi-30 Alkaline Etch and Resist Strip System to a Leading High-End Aerospace Manufacturer in Mexico

State College, Pennsylvania – March 6, 2026 – Chemcut Corporation, a global leader in wet processing technology, today announced the successful delivery and installation of its XLi-30 Alkaline Etch and Resist Strip System for a premier high-end aerospace manufacturer located in Mexico.

The XLi platform represents a time-proven solution designed to provide unlimited flexibility in configuring processing systems to meet the unique needs of the aerospace industry. This installation marks a significant milestone in Chemcut’s commitment to supporting global aerospace supply chains with equipment that is optimized for today’s production and engineered for the highly technical requirements of the future.

A Proven Standard in Horizontal Wet Chemical Processing

The XLi-30 platform is built upon a modular design concept, where each processing station is self-supporting and floor-mounted. The system utilizes a horizontal direct gear-driven conveyor with high-profile gears for extended life.

Equipped with Chemcut’s ULTRATHIN conveyor transport system, the platform is specifically designed to handle delicate panels with a minimum core thickness of 0.002” inches. This capability ensures the system meets the tight process windows required for advanced aerospace components and high-reliability circuitry.

Technical Highlights & Customer Benefits

  • Modular Flexibility: The XLi series provides a customizable environment that supports a wide range of critical wet processes, including alkaline etching and resist stripping.

  • Precision Processing: Features oscillating spray tubes and high-density nozzle configurations to ensure superior chemical uniformity across the pass line.

  • Advanced PLC Control System: Moving beyond standard relay logic, this system features an integrated Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), offering enhanced precise process monitoring, and the data integration necessary for modern aerospace manufacturing standards.

  • Advanced Rinsing: Multi-stage water rinse systems with cascading sumps and highefficiency filtration maximize yield and reduce chemical carryover.

  • Thin Material Handling: Specialized "D-shaped" graphite conveyor rods and the ULTRATHIN transport system allow for the safe processing of high-value, thin-core aerospace materials.

  • High-Performance Drying: Features forced air systems with air turbines and noise abatement covers to ensure a clean, stable output environment.

Together, these features enable higher uptime, consistent quality, and a lower total cost of ownership for aerospace manufacturers producing the next generation of flight-critical hardware.
