Roemer Industries Purchases New Chemcut XLi-40 Ferric Chloride Etcher

Chemcut Announces Successful Delivery and Installation of its XLi-40 Ferric Chloride Etch System to Roemer Industries, LLC.

Founded in 1937, Roemer Industries LLC is a manufacturer of custom graphic
identification products, including metal nameplates, labels, graphic overlays, and
industrial tags designed for demanding outdoor and industrial environments. The
company supports a diverse customer base of industrial manufacturers, transportation
authorities, and OEMs with custom-engineered identification solutions produced through
comprehensive in-house manufacturing capabilities.

The XLi platform represents a time-proven solution designed to provide unlimited
flexibility in configurating systems to meet the individual needs of today’s
manufacturers. This successful installation marks another milestone in strengthening
Chemcut’s leadership in the chemical milling industry, offering a platform that is not only
optimized for current production but also engineered for the future’s highly technical
requirements.

A Proven Standard in Horizontal Wet Chemical Processing

The XLi-40 platform is built upon a modular design concept, where each processing station is
self-supporting and floor-mounted. The system utilizes a horizontal direct gear-driven conveyor
with high-profile gears for extended life.

The platform is equipped with Chemcut’s ULTRATHIN conveyor transport system, which is
specifically designed to handle panels with a minimum core thickness of 0.004 inches. This
capability ensures the system can meet the tight process windows required for both standard
and next-generation chemical milling applications.

Technical Highlights & Customer Benefits

  • Modular Flexibility: The XLi series provides a customizable, modular environment that
supports a wide range of critical wet processes.
  • Precision Etching: Station features oscillating spray tubes mounted parallel to the
    workflow to ensure high uniformity.
  • Integrated Dosing: Includes an integrated dosing system which allows for a steady state
    operation.
  • Advanced Rinsing: A four-stage water rinse system with cascading sumps maximizes
yield and reduces contamination all the while reducing rinse water consumption.
  • Thin Material Handling: Specialized "D-shaped" graphite conveyor rods and the
ULTRATHIN transport system allows the processing of very delicate materials.
  • Efficient Drying: Features a dual-head AFD dryer and noise abatement for high-speed stable production.

Together, these features enable higher uptime, consistent output, and a lower total cost of
ownership for customers producing complex, high-precision components.

Executive Statements
